Series Overview

1. Autumn Climb Through the Colors

Saturday Nov. 12th, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

A genuinely challenging route with constantly rolling hills punctuated with several steep climbs.

In this visually engaging video we saddle up on cross-bikes and hit both pavement and gravel roads as we pass through autumn's finest splendor. Come ride with us on this sunny day at the peak of the fall foliage color display! Setting out in the world-renowned Ottawa-Gatineau region we'll head off on a solid tempo ride but be prepared - there is nothing steady about it! (1:30 hrs)

2. Pyrenees Foothills

Saturday Nov. 19th, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

This video has it all, from smooth and steady pace-line riding, to mad scrambles up short climbs, and even some town-sign sprints. The roads are narrow, remote and the sunshine blazes down throughout. Like so many of our Cycle Life and Bike Barn rides, in the final few miles, there's a real feeling of "Well...that was harder than we'd planned!" (1:30 hrs)

3. Col de la Croix de Fer

Saturday Nov. 26th, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

Another great segment of the Tour de France, the Col de la Croix de Fer translates to "Pass of the Iron Cross". This is a long climb that goes from false flats to steep ups, and just as you think you are making headway, you go downhill only to have to climb some more! While it means some brief relief, your legs just never agree that it was enough to start heading uphill again, leaving the hard push for the last few miles. It's a great way to get in plenty of sweet-spot zone training with great scenery and a group that hangs together for fluid action and a realistic, engaging riding experience. (1:30 hrs)

4. Passo Gavia North

Saturday Dec. 3rd, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

The North side approach to the Passo Gavia is better developed with wider roads than the south approach, but the scenery is no less stunning. Under blazing sunshine and clear blue skies from start to finish. The boys are especially aggressive, as if the long grade is not enough to make this a hard ride. You embark on a ride of attrition, chasing and closing down long attacks as you get closer to the finish line at the pass, where you just about nip an early attacker in the sprint. (1:30 hrs)

5. Tormalet East

Saturday Dec. 10th, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

This road wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Tour de France, and it is often featured as the showdown climb. We head up the eastern approach, the direction most often used by the Tour, on a sunny and hot day. The team makes a spirited ride with withering attacks, passing the many tourists and even livestock often seen crowding the roads on this historic and breathtaking route. This ride is a must have for any Tour de France aficionado. (1:30 hrs)

6. Passo Stelvio South

Saturday Dec. 17th, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

It's amazing how the regional character changes when going from one side of a mountain to another. This very high mountain range separated cultures and countries for all of human history until only about 200 years ago, when we could finally travel safely between them. The roadway over the Stelvio from Bormio is a wonder of 19th century engineering. This is the side with all the tunnels, some still single-lane narrow. Our team approaches the climb with characteristic combative vigor, eventually settling down into a much needed, more co-operative rhythm. The scenery and sunshine are as spectacular as the grade is steep. (1:30 hrs)

Note: No session Dec. 24th

7. Alpe d'Huez

Saturday Dec. 31st, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

We visit one of the most famous climbs on all of cycling! The team looks "extra sharp" as they attack the climb that every pro wants to win. The Alpe is not the highest nor the hardest climb in the French Alps, but it's always a Tour stage finish, so it's always ridden aggressively to create winning margins in the Tour's overall results. It ensures each ascent is painful to combatants, and legendary to fans. Staying true to the theme, the team rides this one hard, with plenty of attacking and breakaway chases. (1:30 hrs)
